Biography of Maxime Ivanez
Originally from the Gerland district in Lyon, Maxime Ivanez started drawing to escape boredom. Then he discovered graffiti at age 15. For the next 10 years, he created paintings and frescoes, which naturally led him to a school for muralist painters, the first in France, in Oullins (Rhône department). His artistic universe is inspired by the forest of buildings of varying ages in neighbourhoods such as St. Just, the Vieux Lyon, and St. Georges. He has produced a variety of work, from monumental paintings, to canvases in a workshop, to illustrations.
As a native of Gerland, this composition was inspired by my childhood memories. I painted the entire wall surface to share my vision of the city’s excitement on game night. I integrated different architectural details from a variety of façades across Lyon. And lastly, the colours are those of the club.
